The International Conference on War Criminology: Exploring Dimensions, Addressing Challenges will present the results of the inJUSTiceWar project funded by FCT (Ref. 2022.05692.PTDC; DOI 10.54499/2022.05692.PTDC) and offer an opportunity for people interested in the study of crimes related to war contexts, and their implications for society, to share their knowledge.

Objectives

Knowledge Exchange: Facilitate the exchange of scientific findings derived from studies dedicated to crimes related to wartime circumstances.

Multidisciplinary Dialogue: Cultivate collaborative relationships among scholars, practitioners, and stakeholders, promoting multidisciplinary reflections to address its multifaceted nature.

Knowledge Dissemination: Promote the dissemination of knowledge and ongoing investigations about crimes related to war circumstances, ensuring their accessibility to the community.

The Organisation of the International Conference invites the submission of communication proposals to be framed within one of the following areas of interest (or another, related to the proposals):

• Historical perspectives on crimes related to wartimes.
• Legal frameworks, international humanitarian law and international criminal law.
• Prosecution and accountability mechanisms.
• Sentencing studies on wartime cases.
• Gender perspectives on war and crimes.
• Post-conflict reconciliation and transitional justice.
• War, victims, and perpetrators.
• Media representations and public perceptions of crimes related to wartimes.
• Memory and post-memory of wartime crimes.

Safer communities implies safer environments where people live and work. But with the expansion of the tourism industry more people are spending longer on vacation, including independent travellers and those staying in tourist resorts. The need to provide a safe environment is a key feature of the tourist industry, but one that is often implicit rather than explicit, as the industry treads the cautious line between ensuring tourists’ safety and avoiding the sort of reputation for crime, disorder and terrorism that might deter customers. Tourists who feel insecure or unsafe, whether due to the threat of crime, terrorism, or political unrest, are unlikely to opt for certain destinations, and if they feel unsafe on holiday are unlikely to return. This special issue aims to address theoretical concerning crime in resort areas, offending patterns, and tourists most at risk, and practical issues pertaining to making resorts safer for both residents and tourists, and minimising the harm suffered by victims.

Deáki Dorottya és Szentgáli-Tóth Boldizsár: A poszt-Covid jogrendszerek ellenálló képessége: kihívások és válaszok Magyarországon és Észak-Európában: Beszámoló a jogrendszer pandémiát követő állapotát vizsgáló kétéves kutatás hazai és nemzetközi záróeseményeiről

Ez a képzés a jogállamisággal kapcsolatos emberi jogi ismereteket ad át, elsősorban ügyvédeknek és civil jogvédőknek. A képzés olyan innovatív módszertant alkalmaz, amely túlmutat a puszta ismeretátadáson, és várhatóan képessé teszi a képzés résztvevőit, hogy saját országukban hatékony jogi képviseletet láthassanak el jogállamiságot felvető problémák kapcsán. A képzés az uniós jogállamisági vívmányokról, beleértve az EUB és az EJEB legújabb ítélkezési gyakorlatát, valamint a perlési technikákról szól.

A kétnapos tréning a Magyar Ügyvédi Kamara által nyilvántartásba vett képzés, a résztvevőknek mindkét nap teljesítése estén 12 kreditpont számolható el.

A képzés angol nyelven magyar szinkrontolmácsolással zajlik.
