A Studia Juridica et Politica Jaurinensia című folyóirat a Széchenyi István Egyetem Deák Ferenc Állam- és Jogtudományi Karának és Állam- és Jogtudományi Doktori Iskolájának közös online kiadványa. A lap évente két számmal jelenik meg, és elsődlegesen angol, néhány különleges esetben azonban német, illetve francia nyelvű tanulmányokat, konferencia-előadásokat, recenziókat közöl. A lap profilja felöleli az állam- és jogtudományok, a politikatudomány, valamint az azokhoz kapcsolódó tudományok teljes spektrumát. A szakmailag és nyelvileg lektorált periodika elsősorban a Kar és a Doktori Iskola által szervezett konferenciákon, nemzetközi szemináriumokon, műhelybeszélgetéseken elhangzott tudományos igényű előadások írásos változatait közli, de helyt ad az oktatók és kutatók által írott munkáknak is. A lapszámok a Deák Ferenc Állam- és Jogtudományi Kar tudományos kiadványait megjelenítő portáljáról érhetők el szabadon, internetes kereséssel, másolástól és módosítástól védett pdf-formátumban. A Studia Juridica et Politica Jaurinensia felelős kiadója a Deák Ferenc Állam- és Jogtudományi Kar dékánja, főszerkesztője Egresi Katalin. A periodika szerkesztőbizottsága elismert hazai és külföldi szakemberekből áll, akik révén valamennyi jogág képviselteti magát a lap színvonalát is biztosítani hivatott testületben.

Két év előkészítést követően fogadta el az Országgyűlés a polgári perrendtartásról szóló 2016. évi CXXX. törvényt, amely 2018. január 1-jén lépett hatályba. Az új Pp. sok kérdés kapcsán vezetett be az 1952. évi Pp.-hez képest lényeges tartalmi, szabályozási változást. A leglátványosabb ezek közül az osztott perszerkezet, a percezúra, az anyagi pervezetés, az ezekhez kötődő határidők és eljárási cselekmények, a magánszakértő intézmények szabályozása, a különleges eljárások közül pedig a kollektív igényérvényesítéssel kapcsolatos perek.

Az új Pp. koncepciójával és annak egyes rendelkezéseivel kapcsolatos viták már a kodifikáció folyamatában kirajzolódtak. A jogértelmezés során absztrakt és konkrét problémák merültek fel mind a szakirodalomban, mind a jogalkalmazásban. Az előbbi esetén például még ma sincs teljes egyetértés abban, hogy az új Pp. az 1952. évi Pp. terjedelmes és átfogó novellájának vagy egy megváltozott koncepción alapuló új kódexnek tekinthető. A bírósági gyakorlatban számos kúriai állásfoglalás, jogegységi határozat mutatja a hatályba lépést követően eltelt időszak jogértelmezési nehézségeit.

A TK Jogtudományi Intézete azzal a céllal hirdeti meg Az új polgári perrendtartás első öt éve című konferenciát, hogy a hazai polgári eljárásjog kiemelkedő elméleti és gyakorlati szakemberei megvitassák azokat a kérdéseket, amelyek a Pp. hatálybalépése óta a legnagyobb figyelmet kapták.

The International Conference “AI for People” was born out of the idea of shaping Artificial Intelligence technology around human and societal needs. While Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be a beneficial tool, its development and its deployment impact society and the environment in ways that need to be thoroughly addressed and confronted.

This year's edition will focus on Democratizing AI. Democratizing AI refers to the democratization of its stages of design, development, deployment and use. Still, the term ‘democratization’ and whether it is desirable remains vague. Its meaning varies from ‘increased access’ to ‘increased agency’ over these stages for a larger, though undefined, number of people. It might refer to calls for open-source initiatives, to wider access to AI applications for people, to the unrecognized labor and rights of the humans working behind it. The conference will be an occasion to unpack what ‘Democratizing AI’ really means in different contexts. The conference will provide its participants with opportunities to gain a better understanding of and critically examine what ‘democratizing AI’ entails. Additionally, it should serve as an incubator for interdisciplinary communities, in and out of academia (e.g. from researchers to artists to activists), to propose and share ideas about whether and if so, how to effectively ‘democratize’ AI, together with its risks and opportunities.

The conference will be interdisciplinary and it welcomes contributions from different disciplines, spanning from computer science, the social sciences, and the humanities. Possible topics include but are not limited to:
- AI and human and civic rights
- AI and Work
- Open-source software and initiatives
- AI policy
- AI for Good
- AI initiatives around democracy (e.g. e-voting, e-citizenship, smart city initiatives, etc.)
- AI and Political Philosophy

We are delighted to announce that the Asian Law Schools Association (ALSA) in collaboration with the NYCU School of Law will be hosting an international conference on “Emerging Technologies, Social Change, and Legal Innovation” on 2-3 December 2023, at the Guangfu Campus in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The conference aims to explore the complex interplay between emerging technologies, social change, and legal innovation. In the past few decades, we have seen the rapid development and deployment of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, fintech, blockchain, and regenerative medicine, which have had a significant impact on society. As a result, laws and regulations have been struggling to keep up with the pace of technological innovation. This conference aims to explore the legal implications of these emerging technologies and examine the ways in which laws can be adapted to meet the challenges posed by technological advancements.

We invite scholars from various disciplines, including law, technology, management, policy, and science, technology, and society (STS), including young scholars and doctoral students, to submit abstracts for papers that explore the impact of emerging technologies on law, society, and governance. The conference will offer a platform for interdisciplinary discussions and an opportunity for participants to share their research, experiences, and ideas on this important topic.

The Younger Comparativists Committee (YCC) of the American Society of Comparative Law (ASCL) is pleased to invite submissions for its Twelfth Annual Conference, to be held in-person in conjunction with the ASCL Annual Meeting from October 26-28, 2023, at the Florida International University College of Law. The purpose of the conference is to highlight, develop, and promote the scholarship of younger scholars of comparative law.

Conference Subject-Matter and Eligibility

The main theme for this year’s ASCL Annual Meeting is “Comparative Comparative Law”, which is described as follows:

“Comparative law is an effective tool of political struggle – a source of authority for some positions as well as a basis of resistance for others – although not always perceived this way. Its particularities across the domains where it is practiced transcend differences of method. They involve different images of comparative law itself, specific distributive stakes, and particular understandings often reproducing hierarchies between the Global North and the Global South, Western and Asian values, modernity and tradition.  As such, an apt description of comparative law’s many varieties may be best captured by the reference to comparative comparative law. That is, varieties of legal comparativism in different arenas – and not simply a unified transnational field – better signifies its multiple valences and uses in different political economies. This conference is dedicated to exploring those multiple forms of comparative law that appear as neutral techniques across various sites of contestation.”

Abstract submissions will be accepted from younger scholars on any subject in public or private comparative law. While submissions to the YCC conference may engage with the ASCL’s main theme, they may also be situated more broadly within comparative law. For the purposes of the YCC conference, “younger scholars” are defined as graduate students, law teachers, lecturers, fellows, and other scholars, provided that they have not held a full-time academic position since before July 1, 2013 (i.e., less than 10 years as of June 30, 2023). Submissions from full-time faculty, research fellows, and graduate students are equally welcome.

A Vándorgyűlés fő témája:

A magyar jogállamiság az európai uniós jog tükrében

Az elmúlt években az Európai Unió intézményei a magyarországi jogállamisággal kapcsolatos problémák miatt több eljárást indítottak, illetve több elmarasztaló döntést hoztak. E folyamatok nemcsak politikai, hanem alkotmányjogi, szakmai vitákat is generáltak olyan kérdések körül, mint hogy milyen standardjai vannak (vagy lehetnek) a jogállamiságnak az EU jogában, meddig terjednek az uniós intézmények hatáskörei a tagállamokkal szemben az alapértékek védelmében, illetve szankcionálható-e a jogállamiság megsértése a tagállami jogok korlátozásával, illetve megvonásával. A Vándorgyűlés alkalmat biztosít a hazai (alkotmány)jogász szakma képviselőinek e kérdések kötetlen formában történő megvitatására.

Az első nap folyamán a tavalyihoz hasonló páros vitaindító beszélgetésre kerül sor. Ezt követik a kollégák maximum 10 perces hozzászólásai.
